ProRepo Grove
A GitHub App that renders your entire repository as an interactive 3D tree, where each file is a leaf, each commit grows a branch, and code smells appear as withering clusters. It uses git blame to highlight oldest untouched code, identifies directories with highest churn, and lets you walk through the history of any module.
Target Audience
Solo maintainers of popular open-source libraries (1,000–10,000 stars) who handle onboarding new contributors in their free time and need a visual map to help contributors understand the codebase structure without writing extensive docs.
Why Now
Dev.to 'Every commit you've ever pushed was feeding a tree. I built the thing that lets you meet it.' directly inspired this concept. GitHub trending 'code-review-graph' and Lobsters 'CodeSizer: Why is that binary so big?' reflect a desire to visualize software. 'Git email patch review addon for Thunderbird' on Lobsters shows maintainers seek better tooling.
